Louie’s Lab is Now Open

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center presents Louie’s Lab – a hands-on interactive exhibit sponsored by the Mississippi Power Foundation.

Louie’s Lab is designed to teach students and visitors about energy, energy safety, and how to save energy. Students will also learn about renewable energy and why it is important to keep our environment clean.

A laboratory of fun discovery with Louie the Lightning Bug includes:

• Watt’s Power – Power is how fast energy is used. While energy is fuel to do work, power is the action of doing the work.
• Louie’s River Rescue – The river needs our help to stay clean!
• Louie’s Super Duper Trouble Shooter Computer has gone loopy and we can’t find Louie!
• Louie’s Solar Station – Louie is all in on solar! He needs help testing out solar powered cars. Build your own car and test it out on the track!

 

These activities (and many more!) will provide tremendous learning experiences for all of our visitors.
